Tar in Cigarettes

Your lungs become black after years of smoking. That’s from the tar.

Every time you inhale, you are damaging your lungs and turning them blacker.

There is no such thing as someone smoking their entire life and having clean lungs, with no bad effects. It just simply isn’t possible.

“Tar is basically what’s killing you slowly.”

It’s the black gunk that is clogging up your lungs, paralyzing the cilia, and making it harder to breathe.

When you have a cough, and you’re coughing up phlegm, what you are actually doing is breaking up the black tar inside your lungs.

Ever wonder why the gunk you spit out is brown sometimes? Your body is trying to expel it, that’s why you’re coughing.

All cigarettes have tar in them.

The highest content of comes from straights, or cigarettes without filters.

You aren’t protecting your lungs from any substance in the tobacco, so that’s why they’re harsh.

That’s also why you typically don’t need to take a huge drag, because the nicotine content is so high. There is no filter protecting you.

If you smoke cigarettes with no filters, your lungs will get blacker quicker than those who smoke ones with filters.

It’s just common sense.

“The higher nicotine content, the harsher they’ll be.”

Low tar cigarettes would be lights, or ultra lights. These contain less tar than straights.

But that doesn’t mean they are more healthy for you, because there is no such thing as a healthy cigarette.

Even American Spirits contain excessive amounts.

All tobacco is bad for you.

You also have to remember that with lights, if you’re a pack a day smoker, then your body requires more nicotine, and switching to ultra lights isn’t going to help anything.

You’ll inhale more deeply to get that full drag so your body will be content.

If you’re inhaling more deeply, then you’re getting the same amount of tar as you would have if you were smoking straights.

It all depends on how addicted you are. If you’re really bad off, and you’re smoking ultra lights, you’ll probably smoke a lot and be frustrated half the time.

So remember, it depends on what strength you are using, because some have filters while others do not.

No filter means more tar, and that means a higher chance of getting a cough, which can lead to bronchitis, and emphysema.

“Low tar means there is a filter present.”

There is a lot of gunk built up on your lungs. If you quit, it is possible to reverse that. They’ll heal themselves, which is a great thing.

Tar reduces your lung capacity, making it difficult to breathe.

If you quit, you can reduce the amount of gunk in your lungs, and you’ll breathe easier.

When you’re breathing is easier, you’ll be living a better life.

It is possible to breathe better!

Just imagine being able to breathe TWICE as good as you do now. Can you imagine how much energy you would have? You could take on the world!

All that black gunk is what’s keeping you from doing that.

It’s clogging up your lungs and making it difficult for you to breathe and enjoy life.

This is bull shit. If tar was so dangerous to the lung tissue, then why do the pharmaceutical companies not developed a product in 50 years that dissolves tar in the lungs???? Why have you not discussed this aspect? Emphysema can be cured but does anyone care? Is tar removal just too hard for simple chemistry minds?

Tar is harmless? Emphysema can be cured? Totally false. Shame on you for being so uneducated.
