Here is an abbreviated list of famous men who have been seen smoking at one time or another. This list is not complete. I’m am not implying that any of these men are still smokers, just that they have been seen smoking at one point.

•Louis Armstrong, 77, singer, died of a heart attack. Advertised for Camels.

•Desi Arnaz, actor, died of lung cancer. Star of I Love Lucy next to Lucille Ball.

•Humphrey Bogart, 57, actor, died of cancer of the esophagus.

•Allen Carr, 72, British-based, worldwide quit-smoking guru, died of lung cancer. (He’s quite an inspiration, actually. He had some pretty wise things to say.)

•Nat “King” Cole, 45, singer, first African American TV show host, died after surgery for lung cancer.

•Sammy Davis Jr., 64, entertainer, died of throat cancer.

•George Harrison, 58, singer, member of The Beatles, died of lung cancer.

•Peter Jennings, 67, newscaster, died of lung cancer.

•Boris Karloff, 81, actor, star of Frankenstein, died of heart and lung disease and emphysema.

•Dean Martin, 78, singer, part of the legendary Rat pack. And you know they all smoked! He died of acute respiratory failure.

•Walt Disney, 65, animator, producer, died of lung cancer.

•Babe Ruth, 53, baseball player. Died of naso-pharyngeal cancer.

•Frank Sinatra, 82, singer. Known smoker.

•Ed Sullivan, 72, entertainer, died of lung cancer.

•Colin Farrel, actor. Always seen with a cigarette, even on the red carpet.

•Johnny Depp, actor, star of Edward Scissorhands and Pirates of the Caribbean.

•Brad Pitt, actor, star of Fight Club.

•Al Pacino, actor, star of The Godfather.

•Bob Dylan, singer. Seen smoking in public.

•Jack Nicholson, actor, star of Batman and The Shining.

•David Letterman, television host for The David Letterman Show. He smokes cigars publicly.

•Elijah Wood – Actor, star of Lord of the Rings.

•George Burns – 100, actor, comedian, and entertainer. Notorious for smoking cigars.

•Guy Richie – Movie director, most notably for Snatch. Ex-husband of Madonna.

•Simon Cowell – Star of American Idol and the X-Factor. Took cigarette breaks between commercial breaks.

•Will Ferrell – Actor and comedian. Star of Saturday Night Live and Elf.

•Tim Curry – Actor, star of Clue and Rocky Horror Picture Show.

•Sean Penn – Actor, star of I Am Sam. Ex-husband of Madonna.

•Ricky Martin – Singer. Made famous for the song “Livin’ the Vida Loca.”

•Paul McCartney – Singer. Member of the supergroup The Beatles.

•Matthew Perry – Actor, star of Friends.

•Bill Clinton – Former President of the United States. Has been seen smoking cigars on the golf course numerous times.

•Andy Warhol – 82, painter and film maker.

•Alfred Hitchcock – Film maker, “master of suspense.” Created Psycho, Vertigo, and The Birds.

•Albert Einstein – Mathematical genius, created the formula E = mc². He smoked the pipe.

•Arnold Schwarzenegger – Actor, Governor of the State of California. He smokes cigars.

•Leonardo DiCaprio – Actor, star of Titanic.

•Charlie Sheen – Actor, star of Two and a Half Men.

•Ashton Kutcher – Actor, star of That 70’s Show.

•Matt Damon – Actor, star of Good Will Hunting.

•Andy Garcia, actor. Smokes cigars.

•Adrien Brody, actor, star of King Kong.

•Alex Rodriguez, professional athlete. Also known as A-Rod.

•Antonio Banderas, actor, star of Evita.
